DBMS Transition for KG Mobilians
NTELS carried out a project to transition KG Mobilians’ mobile transaction data analysis system from the existing MariaDB ColumnStore to PostgreSQL. Integration with the source data from Oracle DB was configured using oracle_fdw instead of dblink. While PostgreSQL’s dblink requires significant development effort due to its traditional RDBMS approach, oracle_fdw provides the ability to easily connect tables from an external database as if they were internal tables. The key objective of this project was to determine whether the performance of MariaDB ColumnStore could be matched by a single-server PostgreSQL setup. NTELS achieved performance comparable to MariaDB ColumnStore through partitioning, parallel processing, and SQL tuning, while actively addressing performance issues related to extension problems to ensure stable system operation.

DW System for Korean Institute for Healthy Family
The Korean Institute for Healthy Family is an organization that supports various families in the country by providing counseling and childcare services. NTELS undertook a project to build a Data Warehouse (DW) system utilizing the organization’s family support service information. The goal of this project was to prevent discrepancies in statistical results at different query points caused by changes in the source data of family support services and to minimize the impact on services from large data analyses. To achieve this, NTELS implemented TarzanDB as the Data Warehouse database and integrated an ETL-DW-BI solution. The DW database built with TarzanDB enables easy data analysis using standard ANSI SQL, and its powerful concurrency handling capabilities ensure fast and stable service even when accessed simultaneously by centers nationwide.Additionally, through the integrated BI solution, an environment for analyzing both structured and unstructured reports was established, allowing staff to analyze data more easily.
